The first emperor: chapter four "Terracotta Army"



 Since the moment he became king Ying zheng had planned for his own death. A tomb have being constructed, which by tradition will contains a replica of his most precious position including his army. That tradition will continues but on a scale no one had seen before the Terracotta army.

"Terracotta Warriors and Horses", is a collection of  sculptures depicting the armies of Ying Zheng (Qin shi huang). the first emperor of china. The figures, dating from 210 BC, were discovered in 1974 by some local farmers in Lintong District, Xi'an, Shaanxi province, near the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor (The figures vary in height, according to their roles, with the tallest being the generals. The figures include warriors, chariots, horses, officials, acrobats, strongmen and musicians. Current estimates are that in the three pits containing the Terracotta Army there were over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses, the majority of which are still buried in the pits".


223bc Ying Zheng stands on a brink on achieving his ultimate dream the unification of all the China. His taken all but two of the states Chu and Chi. with the largest state of Chu the last great price to be claim. But the conquest machine had stalled. The Chu army had destroyed his first invasion force and they more and ready to do it again. Half of a million Chu soldiers treating Ying Zheng dream of empire. In a desperate bid to over come them he commits everything he has, new provisions, better weapons,  and half of a million more men.
223bc the Chin army appears to be an immovable obstacle, drugged in a long siege of the state of Chu. It prompts the Chu generals to reconsider their advance posistions.They decided to withdraw in a more defendable lines. But what looks' like  Chin's static encroachments is in fact an llusion. The entire force is primed and ready to move immediately when the moment their opponents back are turned. The last obstacle of Ying zheng's Dream is finally crushed.
