The first emperor : chapter one " The warrior king"


For 2,000 years there has a legend of a warrior king, he founded a mighty country China. He was its first emperor and his empire became his fortress protected by a great wall. The legend says he was a tyrant driven mad by power, he cheated death, and build a tomb  the like of which humanity had never seen. But it was not enough he wanted to live forever. A man with one extraordinary vision, and left a legacy which lasted over 2,000 years. The legend said he was the most powerful man on earth. For 30 years he subjected China in the most violent and bloody phase on its history yet he achieved the impossible, he unified the people, ten times as many subjects as the pharaohs of Egypt, and an empire that outlasts Rome for a thousand years. His name is Qin shi Huang di  (Ying Zheng).

247 BC In the Chin royal palace in Xianyang. The first emperor shows a little sign of greatness. The day he becomes king of the western Chinese state of Chin, the omens aren't good because the previous king of Chin is just lasted for three years, King Ying Zheng  is nearly 13 years old, already the sharks begin to encircles him, hungry for power and caught up their heart is his own mother Zhao Ji.

The queen has a long time lover the last king's adviser Lu Buwei. Nation like Chin has always been run as feudal family business by men like Liu Buwei. But theirs a revolution coming that changed all. It all began in the arrival of a young scholar Li Si just months after Ying Zheng becomes king. Lui Su arrived on his court looking for a job. But the man who hires and fires  this time is the queen's lover Lu Buwei (now prime minister). Impressed with Liu su's ambitions, he takes him as one of his staff(it's an impulsive decision he comes to regret).

Prime ministers Lu Buwei allows Li Si an audience with the young king without taken care of his present. Li Si awaken Ying Zheng that the real power is his, he just need a courage and the vision to use it.  (for over the next 30 years he conquered the rest of the states). In the ten years since he came to the throne in 247 BC king Ying Zheng has strengthens his power through war. He fought for his life and for a dream for the a new nation China. Many great king had tried before him and all had failed, But this time would be different because Ying Zheng is different. The youngest king who lead his nation into war, he is its  greatest warrior, a visionary leader burning with ambition (if anyone can unified China it is him).


Ancient China was made up seven warring states (Chin, Wei, Zhao, Yen, Chi, Han, Chu) six of the seven was weakened by endless warfare, while one continues to grow by their expense the state of Chin. In it's campaign on the state of Zhao the Chin army takes 10,000 prisoners the rules of war was explicit prisoners must be cared for. However looking after captive would slowdown his campaign, so  all 10,000 Zhao prisoners were executed, and Ying Zheng define his quest for empire  bloody, ruthless and totally dependant in the army.
The well trained and motivated Chin army equipped with precession weapons and leaded from the front by a ruthless and ambitious king creates a perfect conquest machine. Within seven years Ying Zheng captured 13 city in the state of Han and further 20 in the other states and repelled the combine force that intended in stopping him on his tracts. But while foreign enemies are easily rushed aside. But inside on his own court unseen enemies wanted to destroy him.... click here to continue
